LeBrie Rich is a visual artist who works in a variety of media including collage, mosaic, and fiber. Her work emphasizes experimentation in materials and processes and often explores the realm between the representational and the abstract. LeBrie’s work has been shown in diverse settings including museums, galleries, storefront windows, and art vending machines. In 2014 she presented work in a 2-person exhibition in Fukuoka, Japan and in 2013 & 2015 she did the Rauschenberg Residency in Captiva, Florida. LeBrie is also the owner of PenFelt, a feltmaking studio in Portland, Oregon.

PUBLIC ARTWORKS

2012 Collected Stories, Salem, Oregon. Lobby sculpture for the Oregon State Hospital. The bronze mural is made out of hundreds of found objects presented to OSH mental patients. The patients selected and arranged the objects onto 12" x 12" panels, which are cast in bronze and organized into a 4 x 12 foot mural.

2012 Tile Interruptions, Salem, Oregon. 55 individual tile compositions installed throughout the treatment malls and wards of the Oregon State Hospital. These graphic bursts of color were designed by OSH patients and are installed in unexpected locations where patients see them everyday.
